Find out here how to fix all your problems!

“Does it work with the Xbox 360?”
Yes, The Xbox 360 will work with the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD software. Connect your Xbox 360's RCA cables to the video capture adapter, select the video input in the software (component or S-Video) and start recording your game play. It will also work with Playstation 1, 2, 3, Nintendo Game Cube, and the Wii. (Anything with RCA/S-Video Outputs)

“Does this only transfer to DVD, or can it transfer to my hard drive? (What file type if so?)”
Yes, You can transfer your VHS Tapes to a Hard Drive.
DV                                .AVI
DVD HQ                      .MPEG2, 8Mbps
DVD SP                        .MPEG2, 4Mbps
DVD LP                        .MPEG1, 1.7Mbps
VCD                             .MPEG1, 1.12Mbps
NTSC Source: 720x480
PAL Source: 720x576
If you need your video file to be in a different format other than .AVI, .MPEG2, or, MPEG1 I would recommend the AVS Video Converter. It is my favorite way to convert any video for playback on my computer, iPod, Sony PSP, DVD player, or Cell phone.
“This is Ridiculous I cannot get a signal?!”
I would say double check that your VCR is plugged in and the RCA cables are connected to the correct color coded connections. (Yellow-Yellow, White-White, and Red-Red if available)(S-Video Out-S-Video In on Roxio) Then double check that the USB extension cable is connected to the Roxio video capture USB and the Video inputs are connected to it.
If that is not the problem check the software settings. (Tools-Options) Make sure the input box is showing either Composite Video for your RCA cables or S-Video for your S-Video cable you are using. Also make sure above where it says (Capture Settings) that it says “Roxio Video Capture USB”.
“Does it work on Vista 64bit?”
Yes, it is compatible with Windows 7/Vista/XP.
You will need to update the drivers for Windows 7 if you bought Roxio Easy VHS to DVD before September 2009.
Also I have tested this on Windows Vista Home 64bit and Windows 7 Pro 64bit and I had no problems after the driver updates.

“I am not getting any Sound?”

Make sure that you have your white and red composite cables connected from the output on the VCR to the Roxio video capture USB adapter. Even if you are using S-Video you need the white and red RCA cables plugged in for the audio.  Also check the software settings and make sure it’s the right audio input. Tools – Options - then the Audio Input tab and under Device – Line (USB 2861 Device). Try a different capture setting too, for example DV or DVD HQ and see if that makes a difference.
